Product Usage
Dibromoneopentyl glycol (RX-975) is a reactive flame retardant for use in rigid polyurethane foams, resins, coatings and other polymeric materials. Its high bromines content and easy combination with polyurethane make it particularly suitable for use in rigid polyurethane foams. It is also increasingly being used in free-form CFC foam systems to increase its flame retardancy rating.

Dibromoneopentyl glycol (RX-975) contains 60% fatty bromines and achieves a tighter flame retardant effect when used. It is a bromines derivative of pentaerythritols with bifunctional groups and a symmetrical structure and is an important organic reagent and pharmaceutical intermediate, with remarkable light stability and excellent UV resistance.

Application

1.It is a reactive flame retardant containing 60% aliphatic bromines. It can be used in all kinds of thermosetting polyesters to provide wider selectivity of ester properties than anhydride flame retardants.

2.The resin prepared by it has high flame retardancy, minimal thermochromism and good light stability.

3.It is suitable for rigid polyurethane foam.

4.It is also widely used in the free-CFC foam system to enhance its flame retardant capability.
