Lithium carbonate is an important industrial chemical. Its main use is as a precursor for compounds used in lithium-ion batteries. Glasses derived from lithium carbonate are useful in ovenware. Lithium carbonate is a common ingredient in both low-fire and high-fire ceramic glaze. It forms low-melting fluxes with silica and other materials. Its alkaline properties are conducive to changing the state of metal oxide colorants in glaze, particularly red iron oxide (Fe₂O₃). Cement sets more rapidly when prepared with lithium carbonate, and is useful for tile adhesives. When added to aluminium trifluoride, it forms LiF which gives a superior electrolyte for the processing of aluminium.

Application

Battery grade lithium carbonate is mainly used for the preparation of lithium cobalt oxide, lithium manganese oxide, ternary materials, lithium iron phosphate and other lithium ion battery cathode materials.

Used in the preparation of various lithium compounds, lithium metals and their isotopes.
It is also used to prepare catalysts for chemical reactions.
There are also applications in the semiconductor, ceramics, television, medicine and atomic energy industries.
Used as an analytical reagent in analytical chemistry.
It is also used in lithium-ion batteries. Used as a coagulant in cement admixtures.

2.Storage:

Keep away from fire and heat source. The package should be sealed and out of contact with air. It should be stored separately from reducing agents, inflammables, combustibles, metal powders, etc.
Store in a ventilated and dry warehouse. Can not be stored and mixed with acids and edible goods. Handle with care during loading and unloading to prevent packing damage.

3.Transportation:
During transportation, the product should not be exposed to strong sunlight or rain and should not be transported together with sand, soil, scrap metal, coal or glass. Transportation together with toxic, corrosive and flammable substance is strictly prohibited.



Storage
