Product Description

Hydroxypropyl starch ether(abbr.HPS) is nonionic and has high stability of substituting ether bond. In the process of hydrolysis,oxidation, dextrinizing and cross-linking reaction, ether bond cannot be broken and it can replace the group and does not fall off.
It is a kind of chemical modified starch ether, which is mainly used as thickener and texturing agent for cement or gypsum based mortar products.
HPS is a cost-saving material and is easy to obtain the required thickening effect. During the application of wet mortars,it gives non-sag, anti-slip properties and good workability and low stickiness.

Applications

1. Food industry: Hydroxypropyl starch can be used as thickener, suspending agent, and adhesive.

2. Papermaking industry: Hydroxypropyl starch is used for internal sizing and surface sizing of paper to make the film smooth and reduce ink consumption.
3. Textile industry: Hydroxypropyl starch can be used as warp slurry to improve the wear resistance and weaving efficiency during weaving. Hydroxypropyl starch with a high degree of substitution can be used as printing paste.
5. Oil drilling industry: Stabilize well walls, improve drilling conditions, prevent collapse, flocculate drilling cuttings, etc.

Application

1. Construction industry: Starch ether has a wide range of uses in the building materials industry, with a large dosage, and can be used as a retarder, water retaining agent, thickener, and binder. Starch ether plays an important role in materials such as ordinary dry mixed mortar, exterior wall insulation mortar, self-leveling mortar, dry powder plastering adhesive, ceramic tile bonding dry powder mortar, high-performance building putty, crack resistant inner and outer wall putty, waterproof dry mixed mortar, gypsum plaster, scraping and whitening agent, and thin layer joints, and has a significant impact on the water retention,firmness, retarding, and workability of the plaster system.
2. Paper industry: Starch ether can be used as an additive or for stirring and sizing, which can promote the chemical hydration of fibers. Good hydration can improve dry strength. High degree of substitution starch ethers can be applied to paper sizing using common equipment such as pulp filter presses, matte machines, and non mechanical layers. Due to the reduced penetration of wax plates, the wax consumption during coating is reduced, and the consumption of printing ink is also reduced. The surface glossiness is improved, the paper is smooth, and the oil resistance is improved.
3. Petroleum industry: Starch ether is used as a slurry loss agent and viscosity control agent for petroleum drilling fluids.Starch ether, due to its presence of anionic groups, can combine the advantages of starch ether's affinity for clay.

4. Textile manufacturing: starch ether is an effective sizing agent. Starch ether is used for fabric sizing in the sizing process, which has the characteristic of easy desizing. After desizing, only a small amount of wastewater is generated, so B0D is low. It can be used as a relatively durable treatment in fabric production. The fabric is pre soaked in ether and then treated with ether and heat. Starch ether is an effective thickener in textile printing adhesive.
5. Detergent: Starch ether is used in detergent production as an inhibitor for the deposition of cotton textile dirt. After washing cotton textiles with synthetic detergents, the dirt will become loose and easy to clean. The composition of detergents usually includes 0.3% -1% starch ether, and 2% -5% starch ether (based on a large amount of washing aids) can further improve the suspension ability of solid soap stains.
6. Ceramic industry: Starch ether can be used as a green binder in ceramic production.
